Today is our second written assessment day. this written assessment was made in purpose to improve our scores in the previous written assessment which was not that good. the test was not really that different like the last assessment, so similar in fact. but i think i did better this time than the last time, and confident with my work. so i am really happy that Mr. Herry gave us another chance to improve our score.

The written test is today. It is all about what we learn so far, it is devided by to sections. first section is about the history of music which i think i did not do really well in this section. and the second section is about the chords, scales, and the other music notation, which this section was quite surprising for me because i don;t think i did well in this section too. see us that we're not that ready for this assessment, Mr. Herry gives us another chance to improve our score by giving another assessment similar like this next session. to end this session, sir Herry reminds us to update this blog in purpose to get even better score for us.

This session starts with an announcement made by Mr. Herry. I don't think i will like this announcement. It is an announcement about our solo performance score. I don't think i did really well. but........... surprisingly, my score was quite satisfying but yet i still feel strange about that score. i got 9 out of 10. i didn't know which part i did great, but i think, for beginner maybe im not that bad. so that score is quite understandable. Right after that, what we did next is, we learn about the major scales and how they are related with the minor scales. for me, it is not that hard, but quite confusing. next thing, to close this session, we were given an assignment about the major 7th, dominant 7 and all of the theory because there will be a written test next week. i beeter study for it.

today is the big day! it is our assessment day of our solo performance. i am so nervous about this because i am a beginner in flute and unfortunately my composition is quite hard to play it on flute. i practice real hard. but i dont know why, when i was performing, i get very nervous and mess up my notes. i am not actually satisfied with it, although i did my best. i did make so many mistakes, but hopefully i get the score that i deserve and, i did my best though, so did not regret it.

Today, Mr. Herry was thinking about having the music solo performance assessment today. and i was really shocked that i haven't really practice and did not prepare for this. But thankfully, he postponed the assessment for flutist and guitarist because most of us are beginners. because of this, the flutist and guitarist did not do anything today but just watch the violinist and pianist perform their instruments. the bad news is, next session is my time to perform. i'd better get ready.

The whole session we spent our time checking our project for those that did not submit their project. Our project which are either the finale composition or the midi classical file. Didn't forget about our homework abour the major 7th chord plus the inversion. We did check our homework together and i got it all correct. but i still need to check on the positions of the sharps that usually i mispositioned them. but right after that we had a little time to end this session by playing guessing songs.

Midi classical file is our homework due today, thats the first thing Mr. Herry checked and talked about. i feel save because i did my work and satified with it. so i dont feel worry. Not to forget about our own composition, he also checked that and most of us has did it and we dont feel to worry about it.
Next, we study and learned about the chord major 7th and the inversion. to me, its such a new topic, and i dont know anything about it, but after Mr. Herry discussed about it and explain, i become quiet understand about it. not really difficult i think.
Last, we did the reflection and listen to the piano group's composition, they got great compositions!

First thing we learn today in our music class is on how to work the finale software, most of us were unfamiliar with this software and wanted to know how does it work. so, Mr. Herry discussed about it. First, hw told us on how to organized the bars to be 4/4. Next, he introduced us on how to put the lyrics on our composition. Well, for me, i dont think i have any problem on working the finale software, because i have use this program and familiar with it. its not too difficult also, quiet simple actually, although i was confused at first too, but i can work the software by now.
The session hasn't ended yet, next, we were given another homework abour the midi file, it is about downloading the midi file and convert it to finale.

Another sing assessment. With another song. This time its a western song. The two options of the songs are "La Bamba" and "What A Wonderful World". Guess which one i chose? Well, i don;t know what did you guess, but i chosen "What A Wonderful World". I chose this song because, i am a big fan of Louis Armstrong. it is such a great song. I could feel the nature when i heard that song and the main reason is i want to show other people about my feeling throung this song. as i can see, the other students did a great job on their vocal skill singing the western song. and I was so nervous as i waited for my turn to perform. but as soon as my name was called, i just let go all of my fear and just do it. and i did it and im glad i did my best. Oh i forgot to mention, i also didn't have a partner at that time, it was so frightening because everybody got to perform with a partner but i don't. im glad it turns out great anyway. but i didn't know the score yet, hopefully, i got a good score.

Its Assessment day. The day that we will assess our vocal skill. Our assessment is about us singing the traditional song called "Gundul-Gundul Pacul". It was such a relieved that we get to perform with a partner, because its a hard song, and the whole class will see me perform, if i mess up, not only my score will be bad, but also i would be so embarrased. but at least performing with a partner, probably will not make me so nervous.Especially its not a hard song to sing actually. but sir Herry got to choose our partner and that's not going to make me happy, because he choose the opposite gender to be my partner. luckily, sir Herry choose a Feriz, who's a classmate of mine in the instrument class. its unnecessary to dance while we sing, but sir Herry promise us to give extra mark if we dance, and yes, like that's going to happen. only singing in front of the class already made me shy, dance would not make it any better. but i enjoy this experience, its great, the feeling is great. hopefully i could improve my singing skill and keep on improve my score.
Homework checked by Mr. Herry, that's the first thing we did in this music session. The homework that given last session, about putting our composition in finale. i was having a hard time doing this work because, my finale hasn't been authorized yet, so i have to do it at school yesterday after school. yesterday was a busy day. but, to get all of this stress away i think its a great time to sing the western song, "La Bamba". and yes we got to sing that song, and this song is quite hard for me because its in spanish, but its a great song, and i enjoy singing it. Oh, and this song also will be the song that we must sing on our assessment. but there's another option though, we can choose between "La Bamba" or "What A Wonderful World". It was a great session of singing, because i love singing.

The music theory session starts with us singing "Gundul-Gundul Pacul" an Indonesian traditional song. We were asked to sing the song in front of the class, thankfully, we were asked to sing by groups, by our instrument group. Right after that, Mr. Herry told us to do another music composition. but now it is a little bit different, instead of just 16 bars of notes, we were asked to make a 32 bars of notes. its like a big challenge to me because i don't feel good about me composing a song. i was so relieved that we were given time at home to finish and renew it. and not to mention, our homework for nextweek is put our composition straight to the finale and also put up the lyrics. well that's all for this session.

And yet again we learned how to compose a song today. but first, mr. herry checked our homework first. and yes i have completed my homework but, i didn't know how it would be sound. im not that happy with my composition. it wasn't like i think of. as i said i don't think i have talent in composing a song. maybe i would correct it a little bit later. i hope it turns out to be good. Then, Mr. Herry explained to us about the finale software to close this session.

I am so excited today. It is because it is the first session of music in term 2 after a long holiday. I was missing music class. And today, Mr. Herry gave us a music booklet for term 2. i was very nervous to hear that we got so many assignment that we have to do, but i try to enjoy myself as i doing it one by one. Next, what we did was composing a song in pattern of "A-A1-B-A1", but first, of course Mr. Herry explained to us on how to compose the song. To be truly honest, I am not that good at composing a song, i was awful. I feel sorry for myself, well, i try my best though. and try to be happy with my own composition. right after that, the next thing we did is, we've been distributed a traditional song from Indonesia, which is "Gundul-Gundul Pacul". Mr. Herry told us that we were assigned to sing this song for our assessment. It was a familiar song to me, and i don't think i will have any problem with it. To close this session, we were given a homework to compose a song.

It was the last session of music for this whole term. we ended this music session by giving the my other classmates that fail the music performance assessment another chance. All of them did very well. Later, we were given n assignment about making a summary reflection about our experience during these whole music classes this term. To me, it has been a great experience and i have learn a lot of things by this music class. See you later, in term 2!

Great news! well, for me. haha. Today, sir Herry was revealing our score on each assignments we were given. Some of us were happy, and some of us were upset. For me, it was a great news, two of my autobiography booklet were taken because i got perfect scores on both of the assignments, which is 8 out of 8. I was so happy of my satisfying work. I hope I could keep it up on the upcoming assignments.
The next thing we did today is singing "Indonesia Pusaka". We were informed that the next session will be our assessment day, which will be the next day after tomorrow. The assessment consist of singing "Indonesia Pusaka" and writting an over all reflection. Hopefully, i will did a great job on it.

There's a shocking news today. The Music Teachers inform us, that there will be a test today. The test will be on our knowledge about the major scales, and we just got informed today. We don't even ready for the quiz. Most of us don't get familiar with the scales yet. So, Mr. Herry decided to explain the major scale first, before we got our test. We were shocked by this news, because we havent study about the major scales. It was confusing at first, and i was stressed out on how will i do in the test, but after a short explaination, i finally understand the major scales. Right after that, we got our test, it wasn't that bad actually. Hopefully, i did great in the test.

Today, we assess our skill on playing our instrument. Which is flute for me. But unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to practice. It is because the other music class were using the instrument class. I was so nervous waiting for my turn to perform. I am afraid that i will not do great on playing my instrument. Although, i have practice so many times at home. But at the end, I didn't get a chance to perform at all, because the time is not enough. It was surprising for me because I didn't realize that we were wasting so much of our time. So, my turn to perform is next week, and i get a chance to practice more at home.
Flute was new to me. Not yet familiar with it. At first, it was depressing when i try to blow it but it wont produce a sound. But I wont give up though. I tried harder and harder because it was interesting for me, and i really want my flute to produce a sound. After a long hard work, finally I could blow my own flute with producing a sound. And without I relized it, now I could paly "Mary Had A Little Lamb" on my flute. Finally, my hardwork paid off. But I wont stop from here. I will keep going. Instrument class was not that bad, it was fun actually.

Assignment again. It is about our music theory daily reflection. our teachers told us to put our daily music reflection on the blog. And give the URL to the teacher. I think it was confusing, because i wasn't familiar with making any blogs. But I don't think i will have any problem doing this assignment because even though im not familiar with blogs yet, I know the internet stuff. But most of my classmates were not really understand about making blogs so our entire session were used to discuss about making blogs. The session ends right after we rehearsed our instruments because we were told to have a test next session to see our development in the intrument class.

Today is the day we presentate our music project. It is about Popular Music vs. Classical Music. We have planned this project since the first day we have asked to do this assignment. Hopefully we did a great work. We were the first to presentate our project. It was nervewracking. I was totally nervous, but i think we did pretty good. Most of the other groups also did great. And for the final score our group got B! I was satisfy with it. I am glad that our plans worked out. For the review, Mr. Harry gave us his comment on our presentation, and he said that the presentation is too short, but he can see hard work on it. So, over all, I am satisfy for our work.

Today is not the due date for our project. So, we still got plenty of times. To filled the session, we practice to sing "Hari Merdeka" song for Indonesian Independence Day. We were divided by our gender and sing "Hari Merdeka" in front of the class, seperately. And not to mention we get judged by the boys and we got 7 averagely. Right after that, its the boys' turn to sing "Hari Merdeka", and they were so loud. They got 7 averagely too. So, we're even. Next, we were assign to learn to sing "Berkibarlah Benderaku" song for next week, I don't think I will have any problems doing this assignment since I'm already familiar with the song, but let's just see. To end the session, we study about the music composition and make our own. I think i did a pretty good job.

We all remember to submit our homeworks. And that's exactly the first thing that we do today. Our homework was about a classic composer autobiography report. And right after we submit our homework, we were given another homework or should I say a Project. We were asked to group ourself consist of 6 students. And my group consist of Mutia, Keisya, Chiara, Gio, Andrew, and Me. We were assign to make a powerpoint presentation about Popular Music vs. Classical Music. And the whole session were used to discuss about our plans on our project. Not to mention, its due next week and we have to presentate it. Hopefully, we will make a great presentation.

The elementary class comes out of the class so late. That's why we also enter the classroom so late. It was disappointing for me though. Because of that, we got less time to study music. But, we got so many things to do. And music also one of my favorite subjects, so I was pretty much dissappointed. But it was okay though. And we got to sing Hari Merdeka song. Most of my classmates don't get familiar with the song because most of them are not originately from Indonesia. So, we could understand that. to end the session, we study about the minor and major scale. It was pretty confusing, but i understand at the end.

First thing we do, today, is submitted our homework which is about popular music artist autobiography. It seems like everybody did their homework. I did too. Im glad I could finished it on time, although i have so many other things to do. It was a busy week for me. without i relized, i have been chosen to presentate my project in front of the class. It was very surprising to me because I didn't expected to be presentating my homework. Thank God, I could presentate it very well, and answer all of the questions that has been ask. Next, again we were given homework, also about an autobiography, but this time is about a classic composer. and I choose Tchaikovsky. I don't actually know who he is but my friend recommend him to me. hopefully i will not find any problem along the way.

We got so little time with so many things to do. So, Mr. Harry decided not to assess us on singing "Heal The World". I was a little bit disappointed though, because i like singing, and me and my partner have practice on it. But, its not a big deal for me. Next, we were assigned to do a popular music artist autobiography project for next week, individually. and I got James Brown to write a report on. I think I will do it just fine, since I am a fan of his. Right after that, we were learning about the G and F cleff. And also discusses about the music club.

First thing that we do today is devide ourself into groups that has been assigned last session and we presentate our homework about popular music. I think we did great. Other groups did great too. And after we done that, again we sing "Heal The World" by Michael Jackson for the last time. And then for the homework, we were assigned to be partners, and test our ability to sing "Heal The World" for next session. And i got Sonya to be my singing partner. Let's see how it will turn out. Hopefully i can sing well.

Today we have two sessions of music class. And again we group ourself into place depends on our instruments that we play. Then, we were given a homework. It's about Popular Music. Me and my group have to research about Popular Music and presentate it in front of the class next session. Anyway, the audition did not went great. But, it has been solve since me and my friends wanted to join the flute class. After that, we get to see mister John playing his guitar. It was entertaining. To end the session, again we sing "Heal The World" by Michael Jackson.

Its the first day of music lessons. So, we devided ourself on which music instruments we wanted to play. But, we got a little problem on it. First of all, the music department has decided to remove the choir class, and change it with flute class. We were not ready for the changes, and most of us aren't familiar with flute. As you can guess, no body was assigning for the flute class. And that's the problem. To solve that, we have to audition next week, to see our skill, on how we play our instrument. Let's just wait and see what is next. At the end of the session, we got to sing "Heal The World" by Michael Jackson!
